Folklore
Our philosophy is all about the conservation and continuation of our cultural heritage, Mani’s customs and traditions, Mani’s history; it is all about showcasing and protecting the wealth of the laconic land. We strive to save forgotten occupations of the people who lived here, and teach them to new generations. Children are of course, at the center of our thoughts. They can participate in an array of environmental activities, explore new things, participate in daily tasks at the estate, and through all this, come in contact with nature, test themselves against its hardships, and get to know its secrets.
Once you enter our estate, you will live your childhood holidays at the country all over again. You will smell the baked bread just out of the oven, you will enjoy it with a generous amount of olive oil, salt and oregano, you will taste pure honey, rich biological olive oil, home-made jams, baked meat from our wood-oven, the wood leaving a special flavor to it …We will make home-made pasta together, such as hilopites, trahanas, as well as preserves, jams, and lalagia (olive oil cookies…). We will make soap out of olive oil, we will weave at the loom, we will crop, thresh, mill the wheat with the hand-mill…
Depending on the season during which specific activities take place, we organize festive weekends throughout the year.
